From Gap Year to Senior Year: Where Our Alumni Are Now

Some students think of a gap year as a pause between high school and university before “real life” begins. Other students, like Keara, can attest that it is much more than that.

Keara joined Spanish Gap Year in Spring 2023, and three years later, Spain is still part of her story. She has gone from cooking classes and canyoning in Spain to a university campus in Chicago, and then back to Barcelona for a semester abroad, where she found familiar faces waiting for her.

The confidence our gappers pick up in Spain doesn’t just end when they board their flight back home, it follows them for the rest of their lives.

How Group Sessions Help Students Grow During a Gap Year in Spain

A gap year is more than just travel, it’s about growth, adaptability, and learning through experience, both personally and professionally. At Spanish Gap Year, our workshops and group sessions are a defining part of what makes our program unique. Through weekly group sessions and personalized workshops tailored to each cohort, we are redefining what it means to take a gap year.
